The CACFP NPA serves to support the goals of the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The organization's primary members are state staff members who directly administer the programs. Just as important to the goals of the CACFP are those organizations that serve the program as sponsoring organizations and affiliated groups. Membership is available for all who are concerned with the nutritional needs of children and adults in centers and homes.

Specifically, the CACFP NPA has the following four membership categories:

• Individual membership - Open to any person who works directly with the Child and Adult Care Food Program in a state or territorial governmental agency. U. S. Department of Agriculture regional offices may hold individual membership if they administer the CACFP as a state agency. May receive any publications distributed by the Association and may attend the national conference at the member registration rate. Individual members may serve on committees and vote for and hold elective office.
  Annual Dues: $40.00
  
  
• Institutional membership - Open to any state or territorial governmental agency administering the Child and Adult Care Food Program. U. S. Department of Agriculture regional offices may hold institutional memberships if they administer the CACFP as a state agency. May receive any publications distributed by the Association and may attend the national conference at the same rate as individual members. The Institute may name up to ten members. The Institution shall identify, by name, the voting members included in the institutional membership. In the situation of staff turnover, memberships may be transferred during the year upon notification to the Secretary. Voting members designated by the Institution may serve on committees and hold elective office.
  Annual Dues: $200.00 for up to 10 members; $20 for additional members
  
  
• Affiliate membership - Open to any national non-profit organization whose primary interest is the well being of the nation’s citizens. Affiliate members may attend, at the cost of the meeting, any CACFP NPA meetings that are specifically designated as open to members of the organization that holds affiliate membership. CACFP NPA will coordinate efforts with affiliate organizations on national issues as deemed appropriate to the organizations common concerns. • Associate membership - Open to any state or local nonprofit organization that holds membership in a CACFP NPA affiliate membership organization. Associate members may attend, at the cost of the meeting, any CACFP NPA meetings that are specifically designated as open to members of organizations that hold affiliate membership.
